Motorcycle Training Program Changes

As of September 1, 2009, The Motorcycle Basic Rider Course is required to obtain a motorcycle endorsement (Class M).  

Effective September 1, 2017, The fee for the Basic Rider Course will be $250.00 as per State Contract. 

On February 4, 2017 Keep It on 2, began teaching the Updated Basic Rider Course update. The updated material requires each student to complete the 3 1/2 hour online MSF eCourse before Day One of their scheduled class date.

The Texas Department of Public Safety License Division has reinstated the written knowledge test. This test is mandated and will be administered during the curriculum.  Failure of the knowledge test or the on-cycle evaluation or not satisfactorily completing a phase of the course is considered a failure for the entire course.
